Friday April 13th, 2007 @730pm Trail-Way Speedway  Shifter bracket broke while getting heat in the motor, replaced but missed hot laps. Went out for our Heat but engine was missing, fixed that in the pits. Started in rear of consi but had poor high speed acceleration, fixed after completing the consi. A good first night of racing at TW, learned a lot.  35
Saturday April 14th, 2007 @2pm Lincoln Speedway Made it out for Warm ups and our Heat. Started last in Heat, finished last. Lined up for 2nd Consi but started to rain and race called, make up on May 5th. Car ran a lot better, now we need to work on the driver... 34

Lincoln Speedway Includes make up Consi and Feature from 4/14. They had 49 (forty nine) 358 Sprints at the track!!! (Better than 50 I say!!) I started 11th out of 12 in make-up Consi finished 8th, they took the top 6 to qualify. Started 11th out of 12 in Heat, finished 10th, they took the top 4 to qualify. Started 13th out of 15 in Consi, finished 10th, took the top 6 to qualify. This was my 2nd, 3rd and 4th time on the Lincoln track racing!!! I probably have 20 minutes of race time there in my whole career!!! Ed and Brian Wheeler assisted with the Pit crew, thanks so much guys!!! We were lucky enough to park next to Jessie Morrison #18 and met her Dad. It is a competitive group @ Lincoln but was good to get some seat time there and had no damage. Now 30th in Points at Lincoln!!!     31

@730pm

Trail-Way Speedway Friday PM started out a warm 83 degrees but that didn't keep the cars away. 33 358's in attendance. Tim came up and helped Pit Crew with Terry. The track was still wet for hot laps and didn't dry much throughout the evening. Surface was very bumpy and rutted at the bottom of the turns. Scheduled on the pole for our Heat, opted for 8th, finished 8th, they took the top 4 to qualify. Scheduled 10th in Consi opted for 12th, finished 9th, top 4 to qualify. I ran a lot harder this week, very little braking, had more throttle control and more sliding sideways in the turns. No flags during Heat or Consi and it took 7+ laps for the leader to catch me, up from 2 laps at the beginning of the season. Ran higher up in the turns which allowed me to accelerate a lot sooner. The feature had some nasty wrecks so maybe not making it worked out for us. Terry got to tryout her new 4 wheeler and pushed me up on the track!! Looking forward to the next race!!! 30

Friday May 25th, 2007

@730pm

Trail-Way Speedway Scheduled for the first starting position in the 1st Heat; opted for 10th and finished 9th. Started 7th in Consi of 11 and finished 7th. After a yellow was thrown in lap 9 the field was reset and I was put in last place. During the last lap the car in front of me started to slow down with engine trouble, instead of passing him I just fell in line and finished the race figuring I was a lap down. I actually was on the current lap and having passed him I would have qualified!!! O well lessons learned there. We watched the feature which had several bad wrecks. Getting better each week and still learning. It was good to be back racing after a missing last week. Jim Travis the engine builder showed up and helped us, the rest of the crew had the night off. Terry enjoys using her 4 wheeler to push me up on the track and back from the scales after each event. Looking forward to a double race next week!!! 27

Trail-Way Speedway A warm night with clouds all around. Scheduled for the first starting position in the 1st Heat; opted for 10th and finished 7th. Only 19 cars showed so no Consi, everyone in the feature!! Started 13th in the feature and finished 17th. Was a somewhat crash free feature and was able to keep up pretty well. I was actually going around the track sideways more and picking up speed and car control. Was a short night, left by 930pm to head home. 26

Lincoln Speedway Spectators!! We had a Show-n-Tell at the Ducks Unlimited Kids Show at 8am. Up at the crack of dawn washing the car and getting things loaded. Not enough time to get the maintenance and setup done so we bailed and decide to watch. Was a good show but very packed in the pits. 25

Trail-Way Speedway A warm night with clouds all around. Had a cheering section that included my brother Mark, our goddaughter Anna and her friend Chloe. Scheduled for the first starting position in the 1st Heat; opted for 9th and finished 5th. Qualified with cars behind me!! Took top 7. 27 cars in attendance. Storm came in before the Sprint Consi so the race was called and no make up scheduled. Was a great night!!!!  2007 Season Point Standings. 24

Trail-Way Speedway Great cooler weather! Track was tacky. Scheduled for the first starting position in the 1st Heat; opted for 9th and finished 9th, car setup was good. Only 21 cars in attendance so all made feature. Started 21st in the feature and finished 18th. Car still not setup 100% for the heats or feature but made it around the track quickly. Was a good night with plenty of much needed seat time!!!! Tim helped us in the pits. Dave, our friend who sits near us at Lincoln, came down to watch and help, was great to see you, wished I drove better. 2007 Season Point Standings. 22

Lincoln Speedway A cooler evening! Track was tacky during hot laps but dried for the heats after the 410's ran their time trials. Scheduled for the 9th starting position in the 4th Heat; finished 9th. After lap 8, two sparkplugs broke and the engine was missing some but kept going. Changed plugs and made setup changes for the 2nd Consi. Started 10th out of 11 in the Consi and finished 11th, car setup was good and ran hard with little braking. Lincoln is definitely a faster track. We watched the features for our seats. Had a whole crew with Ed, Brian and Tim assisting Terry. Thanks for the help Guys!!! Was a good night, only our 3rd race at Lincoln Speedway.  21

Trail-Way Speedway After having rained all night and that AM the track was tacky during hot laps and quickly became rutted. Ran my last old style RR tire which was a 15 compound so we knew it would be a rough night. Scheduled for the 1st starting position in the 2nd Heat; opted for 8th and finished 7th. 23 cars in attendance - all qualified. The car was super loose and almost wanted to turn itself during the heat. Made a quick call to Jimmy for suggestions. Made several adjustments to tighten it up some but still had trouble getting hooked up coming out of the turns. Started in 21st place in the feature and finished 19th. The Car setup was better but still a little loose. New RR tire rule in effect starting July 1st so we have new tires on the back of a softer compound for next weekends double nighter. Terry was the Pit Crew for the evening with the help of her 4 wheeler. Advanced from 25th to 24th in the points standings. 2007 Season Point Standings. 20

Trail-Way Speedway We got to the track early and setup the car up. Scheduled for the 1st starting position in the 2nd Heat; opted for 8th. On the final lap coming out of turn 4 I got very sideways and saw another car about to hit me so I accelerated into the infield to get out of the way thus scoring a DNF (Did Not Finish) for the heat but I figured that was better than a DNS (Did Not Start) in the feature. 24 cars in attendance - all qualified. The car was super loose and almost wanted to turn itself during the heat. We made several adjustments to tighten it up some for the feature. Started 22nd and finished 20th. The car handled better the further we got into the feature. The new RR tire rule started July 1st so we will begin a learning curve with the new tire configuration. Terry was the entire Pit Crew for the evening with the help of her 4 wheeler. Setup of the car now plays a bigger role in the way the car handles; now that my ground speed is greater. Advanced from 24th to 23rd in the point standings. 2007 Season Point Standings. We have next week off with TW running Late Models. 19

Saturday July 7th, 2007

@730pm

Lincoln Speedway A very warm evening on tap with temps in the mid 90's. A packed Pit area with 132 cars in 4 divisions on hand. There were cars everywhere including the infield. We arrived before 5pm and there were only 4 spots left in the paved upper pit area. There were 49 "358" Sprint cars vying for the 24 spots in the Main Feature. We were in the first heat, started 13th and finished 12th. The track was perfect and the car handled well on the 3/8 mile track. I definitely get a lot more speed here than at TW's 1/3 mile track. We made some major setup changes at the suggestion of our engine builder, Jim Travis, and it paid off for our Consi with the drier and slicker track. The car was setup and ready to handle the turns. We were in the 1st Consi consisting of 17 cars. I started 15th and finished 12th with a car behind me. I made several attempts to catch/pass the car in front of me, came close a couple times, but never quite could get it done. With 17 cars in the Consi, they ran 12 laps. The leader never caught me even though he scored a new track's fastest time for consecutive 12 lap Consi. Terry had help from Ed and Brian who braved the heat to help us. We brought her four-wheeler which came in handy with only a handful of Push Trucks in attendance. We appreciate the help guys!!! Lincoln Speedway With 46  '358' Sprints in attendance along with 25  '410's' and 17 Thundercars it was a great show. With hot laps complete we were scheduled in heat #3, 11th starting spot, 4 to transfer to the feature. We finished 10th out of 12 after being chased but not overtaken by the #75. The setup was OK and I looked forward to the Consi. Well the track had changed and the setup wasn't right. Started 11th and finished 13th out of 15 scheduled in the second Consi. Just didn't run my best but thanks to the crew of the #15, they offered some tips for next time and they were impressed that is was only my 5th race at Lincoln. Video to be posted soon. Tim was there with his friend to help pit crew with Terry. Thanks for the help guys!!! Terry also brought her 4 wheeler which was a big help since we were parked in the lower pit area. Trail-Way Speedway Great weather on tap!!! Scheduled on the pole for heat #1 but opted for the rear starting 8th and finished 8th. 22 Sprint Car in attendance so everyone qualified for the feature. Started 19th finished 18th after an exciting feature. I passed the #10 Sprinter after the first couple of laps!! That was my first goal of the season!! BUT, then in the 9th lap I started to spin out in turn #4 and had to stop so they threw the yellow flag!! I finally made a yellow come out!! Only took 14 races over 2 two tracks to get it done!!! I was disappointed since I was approaching the other cars close enough to start to pass. On the restart it took a couple laps and I passed the 10 again. There were a few restarts due to wrecks and I still was staying up with the pack. Lap #24 I started to get sideways in turn #4 again and the #2 car hit (bumped me) causing us to spin together and stop. I was pushed off and the #2 was towed, not sure why it wasn’t that big of a wreck, just a bump. On the restart the #68 spun in turn #2, so he was put behind me. Over all a good race Friday seeing more action than I had in many nights. Terry was solo on the crew but made sure I was ready and pushed up on the track when needed. Points not updated yet. 16

Lincoln Speedway The weather was beautiful again. 44 cars vying for the 24 spots in the feature. Ran OK in my heat; chasing the 75 around the track. Still working with the "too much turn" of the car to the left. Ran fine in my Consi staying close to the pack with what setup I had. Since the 410's were off for the night, Terry got to push cars up on the track with her four wheeler. Lots of wrecks in the other heats and Consi, luckily mine was most uneventful. Terry was solo again but had her 4-wheeler. We line up and do it again next week!!!! Points not updated yet on their Site. 15

Trail-Way Speedway Cancelled due to.... Rain????? 14

Saturday July 28th, 2007

@730pm

Lincoln Speedway The weather wasn't very cooperative. A storm passed over the track and delayed the start by over an hour. They got the track worked in and we were in heat #4, started 11th and finished 10th. Had a lot of the fast cars and sadly none of the slower ones I usually run with. The car handled well with the redone front end. Track was very wet and fast. Lots of mud flying for warm ups and the heat!!! With 43 cars vying for the 24 spots in the feature. Ran fine in Consi #2, starting 12th out of 13 and finished 8th. Track was still tacky but smooth and the car handled well but the brakes were a little soft.  Terry was joined by Ed and Brian who helped with the car. We line up and do it again two nights next week!!!! Points not updated yet on the Site yet. 13

Trail-Way Speedway After driving thru a storm in Hanover PA with what seemed like hurricane force winds, watching trees break, rain blowing sideways, water way over the curbs and hail the size of marbles, we made it to the track. The storm came within 2 miles of the track but all was just as dry and dusty as usual. They had 26 '358s' show for the evening. I started 7th out of 9 cars scheduled in the first heat race, finished 7th. After 3 cars scratched for the night all the remaining 23 cars qualified for the feature. Started 20th and finished 14th in the feature. Fading brakes due to an older master cylinder didn't help but was a good race though; I couldn't be too aggressive. Spent time avoiding spun out cars, wrecks and an extremely bumpy track. The evening was filled with caution flags to the point that stopped us for fueling after only 10 laps under green. Terry came out and added the customary 5 gallons. She was the pit crew and videoed as usual. Did a great job!!!! Spent the night at the track hanging with the track officials, owners, friends and other support folks!! Thanks for the invite Dan and Kali, was a great time as usual!!! 2007 Season Point Standing at Trail-Way Speedway. 12

Lincoln Speedway With the new master cylinder installed and brakes bled; we headed to Lincoln. They had 38 '358s' show for the evening. We were scheduled in the 3rd Heat, started 10th out of 10 cars, finished 10th. Made some changes to the car including a gear change to increase my straightaway speed. Scheduled in the second Consi, started 9th out of 11 cars, finished 9th. Car was much faster on the straight-aways though still was loose coming around the corner. We lacked proper tire bite exiting turn 2 with the new gearing since the RR tire was older, Jim pointed that out and a new one will be installed before Friday. Overall a good night and were able to roll it back on the trailer with no damage. Tim came out to help Terry with the car, both really busted it and got everything done quickly. One more Fri/Sat race combination in this 6 week straight run. 2007 Season Point Standing at Lincoln Speedway 11

Trail-Way Speedway They had 21 '358s' show for the evening. Scheduled in the 1st Heat race, I started 1st (Yes on the pole) out of 10 cars , was hit in the front end after spinning into the in-field in turn #4 and DNF. I was able to drive back to the pits. Terry, Tim, his friend and I worked to replace a couple of bent bars and the right front arm. Billy Heltzel (28h) and Nick Palmerino (51n) helped check the front end and made final adjustments. Thanks for the help guys!! I started 17th in the feature and was crashed by the #10 on turn 1-2 and drove to the pits, done for the night. Check out Video clip and Check out pictures. We finished 15th over all after a wreck filled feature that collected several cars including ours. Lucky the damage wasn't too bad and I made the repairs Saturday AM. Front wing, left front shock and drag link bar were replaced. Thanks to Tim and his friend for assisting Terry at the track. Did a great job!!!! 2007 Season Point Standing at Trail-Way Speedway. 10

Lincoln Speedway Date added by the track July 21st 2007 NON Points Race. The track added this date late in the schedule and is not a points race. They had 31 '358s' show for the evening, quite a difference from the 48+ usually in attendance. In the 1st Heat Race, I started 10th out of 11 cars scheduled, finished 8th behind the #18 of Jessie Morrison. In the Consi, I started 4th (yes second row!!) out of a scheduled 13 and finished 9th. Ran hard in both races with good hook-up and acceleration. The car handled well though the rut in turn #4 bounced me towards the wall a couple times. 2007 Season Point Standing at Lincoln Speedway 9

Trail-Way Speedway At the Adventurer's Club in Pleasure Island at Disney World they have a club saying. "Some days you eat the bear, some days the bear eats you... but always remember... dress for the hunt..." Well the bear has been eaten us again. We put a whole new setup in the car to try to fix the rear-end kicking out problem that has been plaguing us for 6+ weeks. Wow what a difference!! It ran into the corners and back out no problem. In the Hot laps we hung around the corners even with the track being so wet. In the 2nd Heat Race we were scheduled on the pole but opted for the rear not knowing how the car would handle with a drier track. With 25 cars in attendance we needed to run hard to finish in the top 6 to make the feature and avoid the Consi. The car handled very well and I was keeping ahead of others and ready to pass the person in front of me. Lap #8 I hit a bump and the engine started vibrating so I backed down and ran the last 2 laps a lot slower finishing 6th and making the feature. We pulled the valve covers and found a push rod had popped out and the end was badly burred. After a couple folks looked at it, Jim Travis the engine guy, said play it safe and put it up for the night. The other option was pull the other rod and the spark plug wire and take the green for 1 lap to get points and $100.00. Sad night for us to have to put it up with the car hooking up so well and scheduled for a 17th starting position in the feature. Jim picked the engine up Saturday afternoon at our house and we reinstalled it Wed PM at his shop in PA. Dave who has seats next to and behind us at Lincoln Speedway came down in the pits and helped, thanks for the help Dave it was good to see you!! Points have not been updated on the TW Site in two weeks but we should be around 20th. Video of Heat Race. 8

Trail-Way Speedway A very warm night in the 90's. Scheduled in heat #1 (9 cars scheduled / 6 to qualify) I started on the pole (#1 slot), finished 5th out of 9 cars making the feature. Ran hard after the start, staying in 3rd for a couple laps until I went high in turn 1-2 and a couple of the seasoned drivers passed under me. Car handled well, track was wet from the 4 days of rain we had. In the feature started 13th but within the first lap the 8d drove into my front left tire causing me to loose steering and slide into the infield bumping one of the infield tires, so was towed out. My Mom and Dad helped Terry in the pits scraping the mud, getting setup and making quick repairs. I know the other Websites show DNS for the feature but we were there and running!!! 2007 Season Point Standing at Trail-Way Speedway. 7

Lincoln Speedway We arrived at the track and within a few minutes we had a 15 min downpour. The sun came out and track prepping continued. We were in heat #2 (11 cars scheduled / 4 to qualify) finished 8th. We were in Consi #1 (14 cars scheduled / 4 to qualify) finished 10th. The engine wasn’t 100% but I ran it anyway and made it around the track with less power but still made it out. My Mom, Brother, Grandfather, Aunt Moe and Uncle Don attended in the seats. Ed, Bryan, my Dad and Terry all helped on the crew, thanks for all the help, and all the hustling to get things ready each time!!! 2007 Season Point Standing at Lincoln Speedway    6

Trail-Way Speedway A cooler night. Scheduled in heat #1 (9 cars scheduled / 6 to qualify) I opted to start last but started 8th, finished 8th. I got bumped up in the infield on the 2nd lap but rejoined the field right away without any flags. Caught and passed the car in the 8th position on lap 7 after watching for an open opportunity. I ran hard to catch the pack. Car handled well, track was wet but smooth. In the feature started 22nd out of 24 and finished 11th, the best finish yet. Picked up some much needed points!! Terry worked alone in the pits and we got out right on time for each event. 2007 Season Point Standing at Trail-Way Speedway. 5

Trail-Way - Lincoln Shoot-Out!

We were in heat #3 (9 cars scheduled / 6 to qualify), drew a 66 and 75 pill so we were scheduled to start 9th and finished 5th, qualifying for the feature. Car ran strong with good hookup around the track. 27 Cars in attendance so some headed to the Consi. Scheduled 18th in feature but opted for 24th. Ran a good hard 6 laps then the engine started to fade into lap #7 and pulled it in. Terry had help from two of the younger guys from Jeff Young's #22 Pit Crew!! @730pm

Trail-Way Speedway 358 Championship - Last '358' race of season A record 41 cars were on hand for the final race at TW! With $2000 to win I figured the count would be way up. We were in heat #2 (10 cars scheduled / 5 to qualify), started 10th and finished 10th. Got close to those in front of me but never enough to pass completely. Car ran strong with good hookup around the track. Scheduled in the second Consi (10 Laps/2 Qualify) started 9th out of 10. Finished 6th after running hard and keeping ahead of the #75 and passing the #51. Was a good hard run for the final race on the track for 2007.

With '07 being our inaugural year and having never raced anything before; we had quite a learning curve, a few setbacks and many new experiences along the way. Overall did well and we both had fun, met some super people and learned more than we ever thought we could. We thank all those who were patient with us, helped us and gave us confidence to keep going. As of this posting it looks like we are 21st in points and just short of 20th but we will see. A couple better finishes and a one less missed race we'd have had it. We look forward to next year; though we plan to enjoy the 5 months off. Be sure to check back with us on occasion for updates and news!! See you at the track in '08!!!  Final 2007 Season Point Standing at Trail-Way Speedway.
